Hey, fellow humans of the stage! Let’s have a heart-to-heart about something that often goes unnoticed in the realm of public speaking – the uniqueness of every public speaker. It’s like a flock of cool, diverse birds; each one has its own wingspan, feathers, and a song that only they can belt out.

So, why are all public speakers unique? Well, grab a seat (or stay standing if that’s your style), and let’s unpack this awesome truth.

Different Strokes for Different Folks

No two speakers are carbon copies! Just like our favourite ice cream flavours, everyone’s got a different style. Some are loud and proud (think raspberry sorbet!) and choose to set the stage and tone the minute they enter the room. Others are more minimalistic when it comes to charm (think smooth vanilla!) and prefer to take a serious approach and an emotional story.

And not everyone will even be there to tell a story, some may be there to give new ideas, to sell their product or service, or to provide motivation.

It’s this variety that makes the world of public speaking a carnival of flavours.

Life’s Soundtrack

Imagine if every speaker stuck to the same script or used the same melody. It would be like listening to the same song on repeat over and over again.

Public speakers are the walking, talking playlists of life experiences.

Your triumphs, heartbreaks, and life experiences are the tracks that make your speech uniquely yours. It’s not just about the words; it’s about the rhythm of your life.

Think of all the different accents, styles of speaking, stories to tell and opinions said across the stage. The art of delivery differs for everyone.

Quirks and All

We all have those quirky habits that make you, well, you. Public speakers are no exception. Whether it’s a charming nervous laugh, a signature hand gesture, or a tendency to break into dance mid-sentence, these quirks are the sprinkles on the cupcake of uniqueness.

Embrace the quirks, for they are the secret ingredient of your speaking mojo.

Connection Magic

Ever listened to a speaker and felt like they were speaking directly to your soul? That’s the magic of connection, and every speaker has their unique spell. It’s in the way they make you feel seen, heard, and understood.

No cookie-cutter approach here – it’s about forging a genuine connection that only you can conjure. You won’t make a connection with everyone in the audience, neither will you for every speaker you listen to. But there’s something for everyone, and I believe anyone can make an impact on a number of people once they’ve perfected their routine.

Evolving Your Speech

Guess what? You’re not the same person you were five years ago, and neither is your speaking style. Public speakers are like fine wine – they get better with time.

Your experiences, lessons learned, and battles fought shape your evolution as a speaker, and the story you have to tell. It’s this evolution that keeps things fresh and exciting.

Embrace your uniqueness, let your speaking flag fly high, and remember that the stage is your chance to showcase the awesome, one-of-a-kind speaker that is you.

And remember – if you do want to share your speaking skills (and learn even more!!) why not join us in Manchester on 11th November, for this FREE public speaking, in-person event! Reserve your spot by clicking here!
